Violeta’s Path to Innovation: A Success Story with E80 Group
Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Grude, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Violeta specializes in tissue and paper hygiene products. With over 220 products and a presence in 12 European countries, the company stands among the leading players in the Southeast Europe’s market. Over the past two decades, Violeta has become synonymous for quality, innovation and sustainability. The company also operates in exports, distribution, retail and catering.
Within Violeta Group, the Zagreb plant stands out as one of its most strategic and innovative production centers. Specializing in the production of toilet paper and kitchen towels, it is distinguished by highly complex production processes and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, making it a center of excellence for the entire Group. E80 Group contributed to Violeta's development as a key partner chosen for its ability to design tailor-made solutions in a brownfield context without interrupting production and logistics operations.
“Thanks to the support of E80 Group, we were able to design a layout that fitted perfectly into the structure and implement the solutions gradually. This modular approach ensured the safe management of the most delicate phases and minimized the risks of interruption, turning a challenge into a real opportunity for growth and innovation for the entire plant” explains Ante Brkić, CIO and Project Management Manager at Violeta.
"We chose E80 Group – he continued - because it was able to provide the technical solution best suited to our needs. Our decision was driven by specific objectives: to increase the efficiency and safety of our flows without interrupting production and shipping, while optimizing the existing structure. This collaboration allows us to have a more flexible plant that is ready to support the future growth of our Group."
A smart and flexible warehouse
At the heart of the innovation implemented in Zagreb is the new three-level pyramid Block Storage system, integrated with Laser-Guided Vehicles (LGVs). This solution is designed to handle single pallets up to 2.3 meters high, stacking delicate products with specific physical and dimensional characteristics and require extreme precision in handling. The LGVs operate in narrow aisles, ensuring precision, stability, and safety at every stage of handling, thanks also to the environmental navigation system that allows them to orient themselves in complex spaces without the need for physical references, adapting to future changes.

In addition, LGVs automatically prepare pallets for prestaging, following the correct sequence for shipments. The system takes into account parameters such as pallet height and aisle length, ensuring a smooth and safe flow.
Uninterrupted innovation
One of the most significant aspects of this project was maintaining operational continuity throughout every phase of implementation. No structural changes to the building were required, and production or shipping continued without interruption. This approach enabled the integration of advanced technologies into an existing facility, transforming a complex challenge into a concrete opportunity for growth.
“The investment was designed not only to optimize existing facilities, but also to lay the foundations for a more resilient logistics system capable of coping with market changes - explains Ante Brkić, who adds - This project shows how it is possible to integrate high-tech solutions into a brownfield context while ensuring business continuity.”

Where technology meets vision
The evolution of the Zagreb plant has brought a new level of traceability, process control, and real-time inventory management, becoming increasingly secure and resilient, ready to support the future growth of the Violeta Group and flexibly face the challenges of an ever-changing market.
“Thanks to our collaboration with E80 Group, we have found not only a technology provider, but also a strategic partner capable of listening to our needs, analyzing flows, and delivering a solution that is truly integrated with our business operations” says Matija Jaklinović, Automation Manager at the Violeta plant.
